World Immunization Week 2022
It’s World Immunization Week (April 24-30, 2022). We are joining individuals and organizations across the country and world to promote the importance of vaccines and immunization to protect against the spread of vaccine-preventable diseases, including COVID-19 and the flu.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have all made sacrifices to keep our fellow Oregonians safe and vaccines have been an essential part of this effort. While many Oregonians are now vaccinated against COVID-19, it’s still important that people continue to get vaccinated for other common illnesses, like the flu, to protect themselves, their loved ones, and communities. As we have recently seen, disease can significantly strain our healthcare system, and it’s especially important to get routine vaccines and prevent the spread.
There are steps we can all take to improve immunization to help combat the spread of vaccine-preventable illnesses. Find educational resources and campaign materials on the World Health Organization’s website as a part of their year-round effort to raise awareness about the importance of vaccines and immunization: World Immunization Week.
